Gary G. Beck, AAI, BCFE has been in the insurance industry since 1975. Mr. Beck was formerly the Risk Manager for what is now Continental Airlines and since 1980, has been the President/CEO of a risk management, brokerage and consulting firm. From 2002 to 2004, he was Of Counsel and a consultant to Aon Corporation specializing in the Legal Industry Practice. Mr. Beck joined Willis Group Holdings in August 2004, where he was Executive Vice President and chaired the Professional Services Industry Practice Group, specializing in large law firms.
In May 2007, Mr. Beck joined Insurance Network of America where he chairs the Professional Services Practice Group.
Mr. Beck is board-certified in insurance forensics; tribunalized at Lloyd's, London; and holds the Accredited Advisor in Insurance professional designation. He is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. He is licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance as a multi-line claims adjuster and insurance agent. Mr. Beck teaches as an adjunct at the University of Texas School of Law from time to time and also has lectured in its Trial Advocacy Program. Mr. Beck is an invited member of the Insurance Section of the State Bar of Texas.
From 2000 to 2004, he was a member of the Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct Committee of the State Bar of Texas under the auspices of the Texas Supreme Court. Mr. Beck has done a number of major litigation projects including being Exxon's principle expert in Exxon Valdez v Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's, London and a submitted panelist on the arbitration panel in the Dow Corning breast implant litigation. He was also involved in the seminal IP case on the “doctrine of theft of trade dress,” Taco Cabana v. Two Pesos. |
